Horton-P for Italian Ministry of Justice

HORTON-P is the new bus classified for prisoners transport, chosen by the Italian Ministry of Justice in the tender awarded last December.
The project submitted for the tender is built around the new HORTON family of buses, in a specific customization for prisoners transport and including five prison cells and another eight seats for police staff and the driver. The vehicle will be classified for special prisoner transport use in accordance with current legislation.
Numerous external and internal measures are taken to maximize the safety of the vehicle, from darkened glass surfaces, shatterproof sides of the body to other technical solutions to provide adequate resistance to removal and burglary by the detainee.
The vehicle is equipped with a 6.7-liter Iveco Tector engine and 250 hp @ 2500 rpm, combined with a ZF robotized gearbox.
The interior provides a special location for the head of the escort with command console, properly equipped.
The vehicle itself is equipped with numerous technological systems for communication, location, navigation, external and internal vision and light signaling.
 
The recently signed contract provides the supply of 16 buses and related services, including 24-hour roadside assistance on all Italian roads and motorways, with transportation of the vehicle to an authorized garage.
On this occasion, the Tekne authorized service centers network was expanded, and today covers all the Italian provinces.
