The HORTON buses intended for the transportation of Carabinieri personnel have just been successfully tested.
This is the second batch of a supply destined to significantly increase the fleet in service: once completed, the fleet will exceed 100 vehicles produced and delivered by the company.
These buses are part of the HORTON-TL9 range, designed and built entirely by TEKNE to ensure comfort, safety, and reliability even for institutional transport missions.
The model used in the Armed Forces batches is based on a 35-passenger configuration, with a 280 hp Iveco Tector 7 Euro VI-D engine and a ZF automated manual transmission, designed for intensive and prolonged use.
Some highlights:

  • High interior comfort with reclining seats, individual USB ports, reading lights, and dedicated air vents.
  • On-board services control system managed via a centralized touchscreen designed by TEKNE.
  • Robust structure with a stainless steel body and aluminum panels, compliant with UNECE R107 and R66 regulations.

This supply program follows a fleet of vehicles with an identical layout, already delivered to the Ministry of Defense and used by Army personnel, laying the foundation for a new fleet of modern, fully Italian-built light buses.

In general, the HORTON platform has been developed to accommodate different configurations, including touring, open-top, school bus, and dedicated configurations. You can discover them here.
